Day 2: After a truly grand breakfast, we will ride out of Jackson north into Crawford Notch. Along the way, we will be surrounded by the White Mountain National Forest, replete with scenic vistas, pedaling past tumbling waterfalls, and ascending into one of the most spectacular Notches in the White Mountains. We will ride fewer miles today to allow for a slower climbing pace as we make our way to the Omni Mt. Washington Hotel and Resort in Bretton Woods. The most luxurious hotel of its day, The Mount Washington catered to wealthy guests from Boston, New York and Philadelphia. As many as fifty trains a day stopped at Bretton Woods' three railroad stations during the hotel’s heyday. We have built in plenty of time to take advantage of relaxing on the veranda of this famous Grand Hotel (with its front row seat to Mt. Washington) or perhaps enjoying a soothing Swedish massage at the full-service spa. If you’re feeling overly ambitious, an optional hike (2 hours roundtrip) to Arethusa Falls is available. Also at the resort for your enjoyment are golf, tennis, indoor and outdoor pools, zip lines, a canopy tour and other indoor and outdoor recreational facilities. Dinner will be served in the hotel’s famous AAA 4 Diamond-Award winning Dining Room with seasonal and regional specialties. And don’t pass up a nightcap at The Cave – an authentic Prohibition-era speakeasy located in the basement of the hotel.
