Frequently Asked Questions
Q. What will I be expected to carry on my bike?
A. You should have a water bottle or two and any snacks you prefer. Our SAG wagon will carry healthy snacks, fruit, water, etc.
Luggage for multi-day tours will be transported in our SAG wagon. Wearing a helmet is mandatory. If you do not have one, they will
be available for rent at one of our local bike shops.
Q. Am I too old?
A. We believe that age has no relevance on a bike! As long as you are in good physical condition and enjoy meeting other like-minded women,
you'll enjoy the trip.
Q. This is my first tour - will I be able to handle it?
A. Yes, provided you are in reasonably good physical condition. Remember, our 2 guides allow for different paces.
Q. How do I know if I am in good enough physical condition?
A. As a general rule of thumb, you should be comfortable in the saddle for stretches of up to two-plus hours at a time (we have regular
breaks built into the schedule). If you can ride for 50 - 60 minutes now and are willing to train 2 - 3 times a week at
increasing intervals, you will be able to do our tours. Keep in mind that we will always have SAG wagon support - even the
best riders have off days.
Q. Do most women share a room?
A. Yes, most women choose to share a room; it allows them to participate fully in the group experience -- as well as get the best room
rate. Single supplements are available, though, for most tours.
Q. How many women are on the tour?
A. We feel a minimum of 6 women and a maximum of 12 ideally suits our tours. Not too small, not too big.
Q. What exactly is included in the cost?
A. Unlike many other tours, there are no hidden costs on our tours. Our prices include all lodging and all meals as well as all taxes and
gratuities. It also includes gratuities to the guides. By being a small company whose owners accompany each tour, we are able to offer
great value for your money.
Q. We are a group of friends. Can you arrange a tour just for us?
A. Certainly. If you have 6 or more people in your party, we can arrange a customized tour for a date that suits you. Just give us a call.
Q. I am on a special diet, can I be accommodated?
A. As long as we have prior notice, we and our lodging partners have no problem accommodating special dietary requests.
Q. What do I need to bring?
A. When you sign up for a trip you will be sent a complete list of what you will need to bring. Helmets are required.
Q. What if it rains?
A. We have never had a day when we didn't bike due to rain. In fact, some of our most memorable rides have been on rainy days when a sudden
clearing and rainbow appeared. No one has to bike in the rain but those that do usually find the experience invigorating and worthwhile.
